The Little Arts Academy

Just four months ago, 11-year-olds Emiri and Takaharu had never left their native Japan. But over the weekend of 20th December 2008, together with four others from western Tokyo, Emiri and Takaharu found themselves over 5,300 kilometres from home in Singapore, presenting traditional Japanese toys, songs and landmarks through the classic storytelling technique of kamishibai (paper dramas) made digital and created their own toy robots.

The Business Times Budding Artists Fund International Children’s Art Exchange

Date: 20 and 21 December 2008

Venue: The Little Arts Academy

For 2 days in December, 20 children from The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (Singapore) and Budding Artists Fund Japan got to exchange stories, create robots, make popiah and learn to hip-hop together as part of the inaugural Business Times Budding Artists Fund International Children’s Art Exchange in Singapore at The Little Arts Academy.

Preview - The Little Arts Academy Open House

Set to open 18 November 2008, The Little Arts Academy (LAA) originated from a seeks to provide more systematic arts training and a dedicated creative learning space for all children. With its varied facilities that include a dance studio, practise rooms, a recording studio as well as a kitchen for culinary classes, The Little Arts academy, which is an initiative of and managed by The Arts House, offers a broad-based curriculum that aims to give children a holistic education which has its foundation in the arts. Come and join our Open House from 22 - 23 November to find out more about our programmes!
